When using the array tool is it possible for it to make numbers in text increase. ie 1,2,3,4... so that when it arrays I don't have to change each text?

The Mark value should automatically increment when you array the item - is that what you mean?

I don't know if I am describing this correctly, but in excel when you drag a cell or two down like Level 1 and Level 2, when you drag it down it will fill the next cells as Level 3, Level 4 etc.. I am wondering if its possible for the array tool to do the same thing.

What are you arraying?  Text, no.  Components, maybe.

What parameter are you talking about which contains the text?

There are ways of doing this (not by array) but you need to be more specific.

Maybe upload the family which you are arraying and highlight which parameter that you want to populate?

You can also renumber them later. There are several add-ons on Autodesk App Store: https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/List/Search?isAppSearch=True&searchboxstore=RVT&facet=&collection=&...

You can also use Dynamo if you know how to create a Dynamo graph.

Yes that's where I was heading but was trying to establish more detail of what exactly @nhoffman89BEZ was trying to achieve. What is the "text" that they want to increment? What type of parameter is it?

I was looking to array the text so that after typing Level 1, to see if I didn't have to go in and change every number.

So its levels that you are creating and the level name that you want to increment?

You can't array levels - the command is greyed out.

When you create extra levels the numbers should automatically increment without you having to type them.

You can also edit in a schedule and you can if you wish export the schedule to excel, edit it and reimport it if that's easier.

There are also addons or Dynamo scripts which can be used to create multiple levels from a spreadsheet.

In case you want to use Dynamo to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUszvsyd1GQ
