Can't color nested detail element

I have a detail item family, which I have nested into a pipe fitting family. I need the detail item family colors to show on my sheets. My problem, that as soon as I connect my pipe fitting family to a system the nested detail item family colors are overriden by the system graphic override color. Anyone has a solution for this?

Use a filter in your V/G settings or stop using system graphic overrides.

@RSomppi is correct. System graphic overrides are going to trump any of the object styles you build into the family. See a list of the visibility graphics hierarchy where the highest priority or last applied one is at the top of the list.

1. Line Work Tool
2. Override Graphics in View > By Element > Halftone
3. Graphic Display Options – Silhouette Edges
4. Override Graphics in View > By Element
5. MEP System Graphic Overrides (lineweight, pattern)
6. View Filters, including Filter Stack Order
7. MEP System Graphic Overrides (Color)
8. View Depth – “Beyond” Line Style (Plan & RCP views only)
9. Phasing Graphic Overrides
10. Visibility / Graphic Overrides > Override Host Layers > Cut Line Styles
11. Visibility / Graphic Overrides > Projection Lines, Cut Lines
12. Materials within the Wall Family (Cut Pattern color)
13. Project Object Styles

Filter isn't working on the nested family alone, it colors the main one as well.

As you can see in the hierarchy, the View Filter is supposed to override the MEP System Graphic Override (Color). But the View Filter is not working on a nested element. It is only working for the whole family.

No solution yet... I did a workaround, that  - since I hid the 3D geometry in this view - I have targeted the main family with a filter, instead of the nested family. It is not perfect, but better than nothing.

Since we don't know what the content is, a direct answer is not much more than a guess. Share the family for more direct answers.

@orosztamas , did you try removing the system graphics overrides from the pipe system as @RSomppi stated so that it does not override your pipe? Once the entire thing is made one color (red in your example) you are not going to be able to dial back that red color and change the color of only specific lines. You can only override the color as a whole and make it all black again. So if you want one line line PINK and the rest of the pipe fitting not pink, you will need to remove the system graphics override for that pipe system for the entire project. You could use the Line Work Tool on each line of each pipe fitting. Don't do that. My suggestion is to either remove the pipe system override or change the symbol and your standard to not rely upon color.
