Cable Tray Fittings

Hi team!!

Coming across a weird situation.

Basically if you look at the picture, the Cable tray fittings aren't acting like the cable tray itself.

As you can see I have a filter associated with the tray, and it would appear that the fitting isn't playing fair.

Has anyone else come across this? And if so is there a solution?

Or am I doing something completely wrong?

Oh the discipline is Coordination, and have changed to Electrical to see if it fixes, but nay it does not!

Cheers,

Jase

i have had this before as well

how we resolved it is to add a shared parameter defining the system name, and apply a filter using this parameter to cable trays and fittings which forces all to have whatever colour you apply.

FYI using fabrication cable tray is a much better solution as it applies a system automatically, you dont need to manually fill in the shared parameter for each time you model the tray.

@Anonymous it is also possible to use the Service Type, instead of having to create a new shared parameter for that. And yes, fabrication cable trays might be better depending on the case.

@Anonymous could you send the fitting family for me to check if the same happens on my side?

Hey mate!

Glad I'm not the only one. I have now changed the fittings in question. There were some fittings that were ok, and some that were not. I tired using a type but nothing happened. Might be a bug when I was creating them and playing around with size and position.

Thank you for offering a solution! 🙂 and I don't mind the Fab stuff as we actually need quite a good BOM for our projects.

Hey Diego,

Thanks for helping with the solution, as mentioned before I have just replaced with a fitting that works ok.
