Are my batch copied elements showing up properly?

Hello all,

I am a newer user with Revit. I've only been using it for around 4-5 months now. I encountered an error on a project I am having trouble resolving. I began a new project a custom template. The previous person who had my position had a template set up, so I am using it. I linked the MEP model from the engineers. Then I batch copied over the VAVs. Unfortunately, this gave me a graphical error I am unable to resolve. The elements that were copied over appear black and white. I am speaking specifically about the VAV's I copy/monitored. But any floor drains or other loadable families that were copied, have this same graphical setting, that I do not know how to change.

When I draw duct to or from the VAV, sometimes the VAV is added, and it takes the system color. Adding pipe to the  hydronic hot water supply and return connectors will turn the element black again. And I understand that, because now it's part of multiple systems with multiple colors. However, I then, at the requirement of my BIM execution plan, edited the families of the VAV units to include a red-transparent clearance box. The clearance box only appears the correct color in 3d - shaded. Is this working as intended? You can see in the floor plan view that the box for clearance is colorless.

Also, here's how my 3d model looks. You can see a lot of the VAV clearance boxes are just the system color.

Did you copy over the view filters and view templates from the original file?

Hello,

Whenever you connect two different systems, duct or piping, in one component, it will become black, it only assumes the system color when connected to a single system, duct or piping.

No, I just copied the VAVs mechanical equipment and plumbing fixtures.

I only have 1 VAV connected to multiple systems at the moment. And it appears as you described to me. On my end, in a 3d Shaded View, it appears how I want it. Yet I exported it to an nwc for a clash detection meeting, and it appeared solid blue again.

Hello,

You can change the appearance in Navisworks.
