Adjust grid lines in linked model

Screenshot 2024-02-02 163722.pngHow can I adjust the grid bubbles in the linked model and make the lines extending out shorter? They stick out too far and I would like to squeeze them in a bit like what I am showing with number 8.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Copy/monitor the grids to bring them into your own model.

Switch off visibility of grids in the link.

Then you can adjust the extents of the grids in your own views in your own model.

C/M is definitely the way to go, but doesn't seem to work. Only the walls and floors seem to be selectable (highlight everything and checked the filter but there are only walls and floors chosen).

Something worth mentioning in how this file is set up: We were given a number of files/models, and one model is the main "brain" or center of the everything. That model has all the other models linked as attachments to it, and we used that "brain" model as the linked model for our revit host file. Was this the wrong way to set it up? When I use C/M it only highlights the walls/floors of what I can only assume is that "brain" file but the brain's linked files seem to be unselectable.

Thanks for helping out

You should be able to copy grids and levels, in fact that's a fundamental step in project coordination.

There should, as you have described, be one model which is the master model for setting up grids, levels, origin (coordinates), rotation etc. Usually that would be an architectural model or a designated coordination model.

I believe selecting grids is a little weird - if I remember right you have to click the part of the line inside the view region, not the bubble or lines that are outside the view region.  Maybe that only applies depending on how the view is cropped.   Try turning off any annotation and model cropping.
