Add parameter to a family to pull data from a linked model

Hi,

I am looking to add a parameter to a family that will pick up a parameter in a linked architectural model. We have modelled MEP builderswork openings within various walls and I want to schedule out the fire and acoustic rating against each opening.

The fire and acoustic rating are under a parameter within a linked model. I just don't know how to work out which wall each opening sits within.

I have been using filters etc... to manually input this data however looking to see if anyone has done anything similar to make the process more automatic?

Hope this makes sense, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

I think you would need to resort to Dynamo or similar. There you probably could make a script to find out which opening is inside a particular wall and then store the data from that wall in the linked file into your opening family. After that you can use  regular schedule based on the data in your openings family.
