Add generic annotation to different views in family

Is it possible to add a generic annotation to any view in family?

I am working with an exit light family. The symbol shows up how I want when placed on a work plane, but I also want that same symbol for if I place it on a face. But when I try to place the annotation family onto the back view of the family, it says it can't be placed there.

How (if) do I accomplish this?

can you upload the family? This will allow us to test out what is going on.

Here it is.

So I would like the annotation to show up when I place it on a wall in either course or medium view, but then show the actual size when in fine view.

Thanks!

So, with each element in the family, there is a visibility graphics option to allow for these elements to show up in different views and detail levels. Also, with your actual EXIT family, you will need to do the same 3 steps in that family to get them to show up.

Thanks!

I'm just missing one thing. The annotation still does not show up when placed on a face (in any view detail level). Only when placed on a work plane still. Everything else works though!

So 2 things......... 1) Symbols can only be placed on plan views  2) I would recreate the family to show the symbol in the view you would like.....Like, create the family parallel to the face instead of perpendicular to the face.
