1 view 1 family 2 different symbols for the same family

Greetings all,

The idea is to see different symbols for 1 particular family on the same view. It's also the case for the same family to show different symbols on different views. Is there a way to achieve this goal?

Thank you in advance.

Yes, but probably not the way that you are envisioning.

I would have but the details of your goal are lacking.

Can you please give examples of what you have and what you would like?

@warvin_tahir yes, can you please provide some examples of what you are looking to do? What symbol(s) need to appear in which views?

Hi @Tom_Kunsman,

Thanks for responding. So, it's about a sprinkler(fire protection) in which Generic Annotation Symbols have been nested. We use these on floor plan views.

Feel free to contact me if you need more information.

More details are still needed. What is the use of the different symbols? Do these symbols represent different types of sprinklers?

As @RSomppi stated, you lack information for us to fully understand the issue. But, i assume you want to use some type of nested annotation symbol families being switched via a type/instance parameter. This parameter is a Family Type parameter. It allows you to select one of the nested annotations. You then need to set the Annotation in the family to have the Label associated to that Family Type parameter.

You can add visibility toggles for the nested symbols, then you can simply toggle them between the different nested symbols in plan view... is this what you are after? Link below may help you out.

@RSomppi I utilized your recommendation and it seems to work. Thank you.
