It would be useful to have a way to draw an offset for the end of the roof/slab, that would respect the slope angle and the level of the support.
I work for engineers so we are not showing all elements of a roof (unlike architects), but only the steel deck.
That is why we are using "slab" to make roof (because it's the only way, at the moment, to show steel deck). So my example will be for a slab used as a roof.
When creating a slab, we pick lines along the axis, because it's there that the "top of steel" is.
We place a point lower somewhere in the midle of the roof so we have a slope to this point.
If the roof need to end away from the axis (100% of the time), it should extend with the same slope.
But right now, we can only move the limits of the slab, so the "top of steel" level stay the same but is now away from the axis ; wich is not good. We can manualy edit the level to be OK, but it's tidious when there's a lot of slopes or lot of different offsets and we have to start again if there's a change.
I would love to have a new kind of line, when creating slab, so we could be able to let the "top of steel" on the axis (the first lines we draw), but add a second line around the perimeter that would be the end of the decking.
This second line would only restreint the area of the roof, but the first line will determine the level and the slope.
This way, the decking would be sitting on the beam, at the good level, and the extend would be higher or lower, depending of the slope.
