In a lot of projects we find the joint between Revit ceilings and bulkhead walls difficult to manage. On reflected ceiling plans we show the edge of the Revit bulkhead wall as a single line. This can be done through using the pick walls tool without checking the box for extending to wall core. However, doing this method makes interior elevations show the stud structure layer of the ceiling. So we have 2 methods to deal with this now. 1) Run the U/S of Revit bulkhead wall to the height of the ceiling. Use the pick walls tool to draw the perimeter of the ceiling. Join the ceiling to the bulkhead wall. In interior elevations you would need to paint the edge of the ceiling studs to match the bulkhead finish material. 2) Use the pick walls tool with extend to wall core checked. The wall bulkhead finish would extend down to the U/S ceiling level. In the RCP the inner face of the wall finish would need to be lineweighted to <invisible> line type. On a large project this situation may happen over 500 times.
Ideally, if there was a way to wrap the wall material down and join it to the ceiling finish material that would be perfect. I would like to have this joint automated or have some way to join these correctly. We use different Revit materials to model the wall gypsum board and the bulkhead ceiling gypsum board.
