Uploading a local copy to cloud

Hello everyone,

I am trying to upload my local copy to cloud but there is already an existing file in the cloud with the same name. What I am trying to do is, upload my local file on the existing one so that the version of the old one will be increased. But when I am dragging into BIM360, I am taking the error as in attachment image-1. Then I tried to save the file with cloud sharing from Revit but since they are having the same name, I got the error showing in attachment image-2. To sum up, I need to save the old version and upload the new version on it.

Thanks in advance.

Rename the existing file to something like FILENAME-OLD.rvt and then upload the new one.

Hello, I need to keep the both files in the same name. So the new one should be saved on the old one. It will be kept as one file but with versions.

Thanks for the reply but I learnt that the only way to do this is to open the file from cloud and work on it. And when I save the file, it will automatically keep the old version and increase the version number for the new one. Unfortunately there is no way to do this with local copies.

I don't believe you're supposed to drag & drop files on the cloud. You can do A "save to cloud" with your updated local model and archive the older file with the same name. Think that would be your best bet.
