Revit linked models not aligned

Hi,

I am new to Revit, and have a question about linking model.

I received two models from the architect. One is the "site plan" model, another is the "building A" model. So I need to build my electrical work based on these two linked models.

Then, the BIM plan says we should link them "origin to origin" with a specific project base point. The survey point is 0,0,0, also based on BIM.

I set up my project base point, and link these two models using "origin to origin".

Unfortunately, the "site" doesn't align with "building A".

How can I fixed it? Please help.

I checked the project based point in side the "building A". It is the same as the BIM one, while the one inside the "site" has a different "angle to the north".

Please Help. Thank you.

You can do one of two things.

Option 1:

  • Open their model and link yours in
  • Move your model into proper position
  • Publish Coordinates to your model
  • Save the project

Option 2:

  • Link their model into yours
  • Move their model into position
  • Acquire coordinates from their model

Thank you for your help.

I tried the second option. So I opened my file, linked their models and acquired the coordination. Then the revit told me the coordination is the same as the acquired one.

The links are still not aligned.

My question:

Since these two links doesn't aligned, is this the problem from one of the links instead of my project setup?

The second option involves manually aligning the linked models in your project.  Did you do that?
