I would agree that is is working and working well with many companies around the world - but there are a few things to watch out for in order to make the project a success. I am working with many local and international companies using A360 Team and C4R with fantastic results. Users love the ease of use and not having to create local copies etc.

The Communicator tool is another major plus. users can see who is on-line, have live chats and take screen grabs, see who is working on what and being synchronized etc.

  • Obviously all users need to be on the same version of Revit in order to open the .RVT files and work etc. but note that if you are working in C4R, then the Import IFC tool is disabled. This obviously has an impact if some members of the project are working on using other design solutions and not Revit.
  • Any .DWGs you need to link in can't be on linked from A360 Team. These need to be on your local machine or server.
  • Similarly if other contractors are not using C4R, they can still be invited to you A360 Team project and then upload their Revit models, but you wo't be able to link these into your C4R Revit model. You will need to first download them and then open in Revit, then 'push' back up as a C4R central model.

Just a few things to be aware of, that I'm sure Autodesk will address shortly.

Another interesting thing is that if you delete a Revit C4R model from the project via the A360 Team interface, it will be removed - however if you then go to open a file from within Revit and select A360, you will see the file you have just deleted. You need to go into Revit and use the Manage A360 Models tool in order to delete a C4R produce file properly.

I understand that A360 Team and C4R are effectively 2 separate services, but I don't know why the delete function isn't linked so to speak.

All-in-all GO FOR IT!
