A360 Collaboration for Revit

Anonymous

Hello,

I am the admin for our Revit users in our office. I've gotten everyone set up and working with Revit 2016 & 2017 and the associated Collab for Revit and A360. All the licenses are set up with our A360 Team Hub.

However, for one member, I've downloaded Revit 2016, Collab for Revit 2016, he's on the A360 team and all that. He's restarted his computer and Revit several times, but I cannot get the open dialogue to connect with A360.

Essentially, when I go to open files, I see this:

A360.JPG

Which is correct -- but when I'm on his computer, he doesn't have this button and thus can't connect with A360 nor collaborate.

What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Melissa

Hi @Anonymous,

Is Revit Updated? The following article has information on how to check this: How to tie the Build number with the Revit update.

Is the Collaboration for Revit Add-in updated? If it is, then it should be Autodesk Collaboration v7 for Revit 2016.

Is this user setup with entitlement for access to Collaboration for Revit?
Setting C4R User Permissions for Products, Services & Support

Has this user been invited into the A360 Team Project too?
See Inviting/Adding users to an A360 project

Could you please upload a few of this user's recent journal files?

Best regards,

Hi @t_mokha

To note, his Collab for Revit 2017 works with Revit 2017. It's the 2016 that's not pairing.

Checked the build number for Revit 2016 -- it is current.

Collaboration for Revit add-in v7 -- how do we know which version he has? We downloaded now 2x the latest version as available in the download portal.

The last two relate back to him accessing the C4R 2017 successfully so I think it is specific to the 2016 version.

See attached for journal files from Autodesk Revit 2016.

Thanks!

Hi again --

It seems to be linking; however, when he does "open" in Revit, the browser shows BIM 360 Team now -- in both 2016 and 2017 Revit. Before in his Revit 2017 it shows A360. See attached for image of this.

In his Windows file browser, it shows up as A360 drive.

Is BIM 360 Team the same as A360? Mine shows up as A360 on my Revit when I open files, but it's been a few months since I downloaded and installed everything.

Hi,

Thanks for all your answers.

You can actually download v8 from this page, excuse the information I sent earlier. We are updating the website to show the latest version.

Yes, A360 Team is now BIM 360 Team, so that change in the icon should be normal. See FAQ for Rebranding of A360 Team to BIM 360 Team and Fusion Team.

This post mentions the change as well: Revit 2017.1, A360 icon in open dialog now "BIM 360 Team"?

Is the button active for all of you now?

Best regards,

I take it that this never worked for the user?

1) Verify the user can log into the subscription site, and the A360 hub.

2) Verify the user's computer has the right firewall settings

3) Verify on a different computer, whether the user can log open the model on C4R from Revit.

4) Verify that the user's computer has enough free disk space (> 20 gb), and clean out the files from the user's %temp% folder.
