Yes/No Visibility working with 1 nested family and not another

Hi All,

So I'm creating a closet shelving family thats fairly complicated...(complicated for me). Its working almost perfectly except one thing.

There are 2 nested families with parametric arrays set up 2 times each. Set with varying visibilities. Only 1 of the 4 arrays is not "listening" to its visibility settings.

I've attached the family. If you place it in a drawing and view it in 3d on fine detail and set to Single - 12" Depth STD. You should see what I mean. There's 2 little nodes a little lower than the shelf that should not be visible in this selection. On the visible shelf there is some angular bracing visible and this same bracing with a different visibility is not visible lower down which is how it should be. As far as I can tell... they are all set the same.

WHY DOES THE ONE NOT LISTEN!!!!!! grrr... some venting needed. I've solved every other issue I've run into but this one....I'm stumped.

If anyone can help thank you in advance.

If anyone can tell me whats wrong so I can fix it myself that would be even better.

1) Why is your family in dashed lines? Even in 3D view?

2) I see Yes/No parameters, but they are in the Other category. Change it to be in the Visibility category.

I hope this is it. Good luck!

Its in dashed lines because thats the line type assosiated with our shelf material. Why I dont know.

Changing the "Double" yes/no parameter to the Visibility category instead of other did not change anything.

Well first go into Object Styles and change the linestyle!

I'm sorry and I dont mean to be rude but that isn't what I posted about. I dont NEED to change it for the visibility parameter to work correctly because it already works for 3 of 4 nested families.

I only need to know how to solve the problem with the little nodes not dissapearing when the "double shelf" visibility is unchecked.

Look at your Brace Array family. When I open it to edit I don't see the braces.

They are set up to only be visible in 3d at Fine detail and left/right, front/back at fine detail. We dont want to see the braces and supports in a plan view.

Try this revised family. You forgot to 'shared' the parametric array family.

The Shelf Support Parametric Family is missing at the front edge of the shelf. Add it. That should work.
