Workstation Spec Recomendations

Hello,

I'm hoping I can get some tech advice on a recommended desktop rig to run Revit with point clouds. I have an architectural background but now I'm using surveying point clouds my Revit grinds to a halt with the large data processing. Can anyone suggest specs regarding;

  • CPU type and size
  • GPU type
  • RAM size
  • HDD type and size

Needs to be a value for money setup so I've got to keep it realistic.

Thanks!

Of course Toan but the question was:

"Needs to be a value for money setup so I've got to keep it realistic"

I don't think a dual Xeon is realistic for a student.

Top tier I7 or 64gb ram neither

As a start, nobody can work efficiently with survey point cloud with 16GB of RAM. I gave options. It's up to him to eliminate what unreasonable.
