Wood Grain Orientation

Hello all. If you see the attachment you can see the problem with the wood grain on the columns, fascia and angled parts of corbels. Any Ideas? Thanks.orientation.JPG

Make sure it's a model pattern assigned, tab select a pattern line and then simply use rotate function (RO) to rotate...

Well I was able to make a new material with the grain turned 90 to fix the columns. I'm sure I could do one at 45 and -45 for the fascia but that is getting a bit ridiculous. Especially if I want to change to colors later - I'd have to do it to all of them. I hope Revit comes out with something that can guess the grain orientation of fascia or other geometry. I was able to rotate the material of the corbel in the family but those rotations did not carry through to the project. :verwirrtes_Gesicht:Grain.JPGmaterials.JPG

I was thinking you have to edit structural beam material orientation in the family ie. columns. Other then that you should be able to rotate the assigned surface pattern for the material (swich to hidden lines, tab select pattern line, rotate, then switch back to realistic)... Let me know if that works, or share the file that might be easier.

There several approaches depending on how you modeled the geometry. Unfortunately, one size doesn't fit all. Looks like you need to to use a couple of different approaches.  Post your file.
