Wood Framing Extension for Revit 2020

I am just starting to learn how to use Revit so forgive me if this is something that I am overlooking. 

I want to be able to show the framing in the walls (wall studs, caps, headers.....etc) in my simple project that I am doing.  It seems that the Wall Framing extension is no longer available for Revit 2020.  I did find a download for the REX 2018 here.  Will the extension for 2018 work for Revit 2020?

If not, it just baffles me why AD would stop developing the framing extension.  Pretty difficult to build a house without framing.

Unfortunately no. The extension of 2018 will not work for 2020. Please note below link for some alternatives.

REX is no longer available, but it isn't a show -stopper.  All the tools and functionality are still present in Revit (e.g. Columns, Beams, so on and so forth).

It's a TOTAL SHOW STOPPER.  The add in that allowed for very easy initial ROOF FRAMING was one of the single most useful tools for revit. Especially for QUICKLY getting an idea about design concepts for residential homes. What is the point of REVIT if it mandates a subscription non-reverse compatible path, but then removes simple easy to use functions? Why would they remove this? I have recently read a response to the Architectural community that was totally dismissive of end users as usual.

 You know, you may be thinking about something else, because you don't use the Wood Framing Extension to "quickly get an idea about design concepts for residential homes".

This is found under the Extensions tab on my Revit 2017. Nothing like it available for my Revit 2020.

The Rafter Framing Tool was, very quick and easy as a starting point that could be modified.

I could model different roof lines and try out different framing concepts all day long with this.

The biggest issue really seems to be that Home and Interior Designers haven't widely adopted Revit yet,.

Even most of the jobs out there seem to be for 'Engineering' Disciplines or larger firms.

That's unfortunate. What part of the world are you in?  

Also, those extension tools are not used in design/conceptualization.  Those are rudimentary framing tools.  There are superior software available for framing. Check out AGACAD and Strucsoft.  But, like I said earlier, Revit Beams and Columns work well too.

I use to make a compromise ...

• First I create a draft of the Walls and Roofs in R2017 and use REX to build the timber structure. I keep only the timber structure and save.
• Then, I insert the file as Linked into Revit 2020 (or any other version higher then 2017). 
• I place the Linked file into the right position on my current file, Bind Link and Ungroup.
• You have now a bunch of Beams then can be edited as Barth suggested before...

The idea is that you don't begin from scratch...
