Windows not showing in render

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello, I have certain windows in my design the are showing in floor plans and in 3D views (shaded), however they disappear after rendering an image - only a blank space in the wall remains. (see the attached jpeg)

This only happens to some of the windows, although they are all made from the same family.

I've tried uploading a new family of windows and placing these, but still no luck.

I am also having trouble viewing some columns under the deck after rendering...

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Jay

Do they show up in Realistic View?

...did Revit throw a error upon rendering alerting you to missing images?

Hard to know unless you upload the sample file. Which version of Revit are you using?

Are you rendering or are you ray-tracing? if the latter, try to Render instead

Thanks for having a look!

Seems fine here.  Renders well too.

BTW: That is not a Rendered View you are showing on your Sheet.

Well there are several things you can improve in that mode...for example:

  1. Those bleeding lines on the Facade when in Shaded View (you have edited the wall profile to connect the corners...reset the profile and let the walls auto join)
  2. Use Join Geometry...lots of element will not join unless you use that.
  3. In the 3D...you are probably having some graphic issues...Type VV then Go to imported Categories and switch of the DWGs in that 3D you do not need them there

As for the render .. it seems to render fine with or without the above (at least on my laptop)

Goddammit! Thanks for running it

Could it be a computer power issue? I'm using a 16gbRAM laptop

I noticed you replied quickly, but it takes 10 minutes for my machine to run a rendering... I can't even see the Realistic View setting because loading takes to long!

I'm gonna try to render in the cloud next

Thanks for confirming that a quality rendering is possible

I rendered draft and it took 5-10 seconds i think. It could be your computer.

You can unchexk use hardwar acceleration in the options/graphics but that doesnt improve or effect the rendering part.

I rendered in the cloud and the image turned out perfect - must be my computer power.  I will render in cloud from now on

Thanks for your help team!
