Window placement, building distance determine by shadow study

Hi,
If I want to consider window & door placement & also the corridor width with reference to sun study and shadow diagram, is there any more resources to tell me how to do it?

 

I also notice there isn't much directional light from window generated in sun study in Revit. Is there any quick way to fix it?

There's no roof.  Do Camera Views.

The shadow shown on your plan is inaccurate because the view is cut at the view range cut plane.  This exercise is meant for sun/shadow study for buildings, not internal spaces.  If you want to understand how the sun and shadow affecting an internal space, create a camera view inside that space and render it.

 

You can also explore Lighting and Solar Analysis tools.

I don't get what you mean, having roof will make the window have directional light?

Can the lightning & solar analysis tool help me to decide the position and location of the window? Or is there any way to consider window design in revit?
I saw the lightning & solar analysis tool is more on interior spaces simulation.

I mean you can't study directional light through a Window when you have NO roof above (as your screenshot shows).  You need to view the scene WITH a Roof above.  So, create a Camera View inside the building if you want to study the directional light.

 

FWIW: You don't have to Render the scene to study natural lighting.

Hi, 

Thank you for your video. I tried to do with that video, using camera view with roof, see the target elevation settings, is it correct?

I applied transparency to the window. 

I think it still looks weird.
