Window embedded in room schedule, assigning to exterior room

I know this is a common problem, but maybe there is a simple and intelligent workaround already.

In an embedded schedule the windows are assigned to the room that their exterior side is facing. Before captain obvious writes me that you only have to enable room calculating point - I've tried, and no amount of flipping or draging the whole arrow into the interior helped. Unless someone provieds me with a family that has this set properly I will not belive that this works.

I am aware that I could nest a window family in a window family and flip it, but let's have some self respect. I shall not put extra work because of an incompetent program bug.

Any suggestions? I am using Revit 2017.

PS. Bugs like this should be punished with flogging. 🙂

@barthbradley I mentioned why in my previous post. If I made the schedule as a room with embedded winbdows it would always sort first by exterior room (no possibility of adding from/to room in room schedule) and then show the "from room" in a seperate column. Not to elegant, especially that if there is no room on the exterior of the window it won't show up.

Making a window schedule sorted by apartment number/from room/area Lets me sort it exactly as I wanted and lists all the windows by the interior.

@ToanDN I didn't watch it, sorry. 🙂

Does this still work in Revit 2020 and above? When I look for From: Room and To: Room in the Fields dropdown menu of a Windows list, they are not there - I get Rooms, MEP-Rooms instead... am I not getting something here?
