Why the topography shows different in section and elevation?

if you look on the attached image you can see the same topography but shown different in depth on these views, section and elevation. The topography actually has the depth shown in the 3D view.

"topography but shown different in depth" - is your question about this: you see the topography being cut in the section but not in the elevation?

Just like sections, elevations have cut plane. To move the elevation cut plane, select the arrow of the elevation tag. You will see the cut plane. Then nudge it so that it cuts the topography (up,down,left,right arrows on the keyboard).
