Why is Revit slightly changing edited profile lines of walls meeting sloped roofs?

To make the walls join correctly in the first image below I have to edit the profile lines of the wall instead of attaching it to the roof above. When I do this Revit then randomly skews the lines like you see in the second image below. Why?

Try attaching the top of the wall to the roof elements. Modify walls -> Attach Top/Base and select the roof. You can do this twice, once for each portion of roof. This also allows the wall top to adjust automatically if the roof height/slope change.
