Do family object styles overwrite project object styles when they are imported? I turned all the window line weights to 1 in my project object styles and this window line weight is still a 2.

So I can fix it by changing wall line weight but I don't want to change that. Why is the wall line weight coming through the window and not in the window family next to this one?

That is the wall's line weight because the window cuts an opening in the wall.

Ok how do I hide it like the other window types do?

The family should have 3d elements or 2d mask to cover the wall opening.

You might have double linework there.  That is, 2 lines that are very, very close together. Not touching.  Turn OFF Thin Lines and Zoom in to see.

Or maybe (though unlikely) it's caused by Silhouettes. Check to see if Silhouettes is turned on under the Graphic Display Options for the View.
