WHO SCREWED UP MODIFY SUB-ELEMENTS???

Do I have to add base offset calculations to all my roof elevations now?  I used to only have one calculation to make: the rise in one edge from the pitch factored from the length, plus zero!  Now I have to add or subtract that figure from some basepoint or internal origin?  How is this helping me???
