Hi everyone,
I'm trying to load a family with an associated type catalogue but its not working. Its showing that the .txt file is using a wrong delimiter and it can't be read, although the type catalogue was before exported by revit itself after creating the types. This means revit has used the wrong format when exporting. Now I can change it to the right delimiter by hand, but is there a way to make sure revit uses the right delimiter already when exporting the type catalogue? (Its using a dot . instead of a commma , )
Thanks for your help!
Strange. I've never seen this before. This family is definitely screwed up though. Maybe a bad template? Maybe this file is Corrupt? Don't know. Does this happen with others? If so, I try a Repair. I think I'd also notify Autodesk Tech Support.
Keep us posted.
@Viveka_CD: what do you think?
Hi barthbradley, maybe it was the family template I'm not sure. I've tried a different template now and its all working there fine
Thanks for your support.
It's not the template but the Project units> Decimal symbol/digit grouping setting.
If you choose comma "," as the decimal symbol eg; 100.000,00 the delimiter in the exported .txt file will be a full stop/period "."
If you choose full stop/period "." as the decimal symbol eg; 100,000.00 the delimiter in the exported .txt file will be a comma ","
I did not want to start over in another template, so a little stubbornness paid off ![]()
