I made a very basic Washing Machine family in Revit. I dont understand why though the reference planes, which are pulled in close to the family, are extending so far beyond the geometry once its placed inside the project. Any help would be appreciated. Ive had this happen on a couple of families, so clearly Im doing something wrong.
In Family Editor:
In Project:
Look at side elevations in the family and see if you have any elements or linework outside of the washing machine.
Turns out its the Annotation symbol that makes the "W" symbol. Is there a way to prevent the nested reference planes from doing this? or is there a better solution? The reason why I made a label is because I want the W to only be visible when the family is "Fine Detail" and when its Coarse or Medium the "W" doesnt show up. Its also a parameter because when we stack the appliaces, we have an istance parameter that changes it to "W/D" in plan, but its annoying that the reference planes extend so far out

Set the ref plane in the nested family to Not a reference. Or use Ref lines instead of ref planes.
