What all the reason revit file size getting increased...? how it can be manage..

Dear Friends,

My revit File size was Increase Upto 1.5 GB, How to fix this issue,

and anyone please list out the reason for file size increasing,

Details Of the revit file :

Project area 15000 SQ.M, 1-level,

Model as well as shop drawing.

Got CAD elements? They can impact file size tremendously.

Have you tried Save As + Compact File? This can take the size down several 100s of MB.

We work in office buildings around 100.000 SQM, our file size if usually around 800 MB.

How detailed in everything modelled?

As @barthbradley said, do you have CAD imports in the families, or the project itself?

A lot of model in place elements?

Could you split up the model? Terrain and facade in separate files.

I'm guessing a lot of Modeled In Place vs Family Components.

What will also add up is DWG's, and other similar files, loaded into families then loaded into the project.   I had someone with a family that was 900mb and they had loaded an Inventor file into a furniture family.  I edited the inventor family to just be the shell of the chair and not include all the support structure and got it down to 40mb...
