Weird Ground Shadow

Can anyone explain why my building shadows are casting on an imaginary ground plane that coexists with the floor level.  This floor level is called out at "0'-0"".  Is this my mistake? Should I be more purist about the elevation callouts and call the ground "0".  This seems kinda academic.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Would like to be able to call the main floor level "0" and still have my ground shadows some 4 to 5 feet lower.

Pick Sun icon at bottom of a screen, go to Sun Settings and choose 'Ground Plane at Level' to your liking.

Revit add-ins: CAD Purger (delete UNUSED and selected line patterns & line styles, find and delete CAD), Rooms To Spaces, Schedule Utilities (Calculated Values/Combined Parameters To Tags, reuse view filter rules in schedule filters), View Filter Manager at Revit Apps Store
