Wall Type Embedded Sweep Vis Control

My question is: when Autodesk will finally address this issue; I saw on 2007 forums the same issue and is not resolved but it is quite important. It's been 25 years and nothing is done.

There is an option to integrate sweep to wall type using the wall section and adding the sweep, but there is no way to control data about that sweep, so for example I would like to have an option to assign category to that sweep so I can turn that sweep off in plan view. there is only option to set profile, material and offsets but there is no way to switch that sweep off in plan view.

I know I can use sweep tool to get the same thing done but it take much more time especially in large floor layouts and besides Revit is all about automation. So everything is good to the moment when I have to dimension the walls and it is pain in the butt and besides the wall graphic representation itself in 1/4" scale is super congested. why not to fix a simple problem, just add one additional column in sweeps window which is category and be able to use drop down list of that, for example if I create subcat for wall "base" it will pop up in that drop down category menu, once I have it assigned I'll be able to switch on or off that

Create Parts and hide (exclude) the Sweep Part.

Just answering your question, they will most probably not. The all in one magic wand tool does not work in the BOM world...it did 25 years ago but not anymore. The tool functions as intended and that is why the software offers you other means/tools to do sweeps each suitable for the different design stages and LODs.

Now that doesn't mean Autodesk do not listen they do have a marginal space for user driven enhancement and the Ideas Forum. And your Idea is not new, a few did think of it and did beat you to posting a request on the Ideas forum but apparently due to the unpopularity of the IDEA it was disregarded.

I was just about to ask the same question when i saw your post.
You are right, there is no way to control it's visibility, unless i take the "Noob" approach with wall parts or extrusion method. But that completely defeats the purpose of being efficient. I even tried giving it a different sub-category, but still cannot be controlled.
