Revit LT:
I am updating my firm's window standards and I feel as though I have reached an impasse: There is no wall line projection difference between window openings and common edges. In this case, and what matters to us, is the difference in line weight between window edges and partial height walls. See below for reference.
The line tool cannot be the solution, as this would just be constant repeat work. What would be your method to correct this automatically/parametrically? Or is this something that we need to compromise with?
Where's the sill linework coming from? Masking Region? Nested Detail? Model geometry visible in Plan/RCP?
FWIW: Masking Region Invisible Lines have a Line Weight.
You could use a Filter to manage the appearance of partial height walls.

Great question. This is a long winded explanation that I was hoping could be explained in a comment.
There is no window family modeled geometry visible in the plan view. What is being shown are model lines, drawn and are apart of the family, above the window sill serving as the representation of the window for plan purposes. Therefore, the edges being called out are wall edges.
Masking regions and extrusions to "mask" the wall edges at sill height run into the same problem where they have to be wider than the wall to fully mask the wall's projected line weight.
What methods/workflow would you use in the family that would solve this issue, but keep the plan representation the same?
If no sill model geometry is visible in Plan/RCP, then what's the Masking Region for? Is it necessary? If you remove it, does that solve the problem -- or create another?
...FWIW (may or may not be relevant in your case):
Add masking region or even allow the 3d window sill element to be visible in plan view so that you have the line weight of window category.
