Wall Niche/void error

Hi,

When going through this step by step process below it seems that I run into an error every time.

The error most of the time is: Instance of in-place family is not cutting host. (I cannot see that the initial line not being connected to the wall that I am cutting the niche out of). I am using Revit 2019

Architecture - Model line - square drawing tool

Component - Model in place - Walls - Name

Extrusion - pick lines - hover over top line - hit tab once - highlights all lines - zoom in and lock - click green tick

Properties - 50.0 - void - apply - click off

Are you cutting the Wall before closing out of In-Place Editing?

Use Cut Geometry to cut the wall BEFORE you finish the in-place family.

From changing the extrusion to 50mm I am then going straight to the cut tool but even then the rectangle which I am trying to cut is highlighted orange.

Doesn't sound like it is in contact with the Wall it is supposed to Cut.
