Wall and Column intersection

Hi !!!I am tyring for my wall to do this! firsts picture. The columns stay intact, and the outer material of my wall is eliminated where it overlaps the columns.

2nd to 4th picture show what happens when i try to do it in revit, any ideas???

oops. 

I think what you are describing is the key difference between Architectural and Structural Columns.

Do you want them Joined or Unjoined?

Sorry for the delay, Unjoined i think would be fine, I cant say I know what the difference would be ...?

Does your screenshot imply that structural columns _will not_ appear as joined to a wall, in plan view? I seem to be seeing the column joined in 3D view, but not in plan.
