visibility control of imported objects

Hello.

I need to import in Revit geometry which I cannot model directly.

The geometry is a closed mesh object.

I import the object into a generic family and then the family into Revit.

From object styles I can control linework appearance which seems to work, and also to apply a material.

The problem is that the material cut pattern does not work on this control level.

As you can see I have no solid fill.

I can control the cut pattern from ''manual override graphics in view"

Why can on the object level, which is view-specific, and not from the project level (object styles)?

Is there a solution to control the appearance of imported objects globally?

Thanks

Post the Revit Family as well as the file that is imported into it.
