View Templates and Browser Organization

I am looking to have my new "View Type" Parameter (Text Parameter in Identity Data) sort sub-categories under the type (i.e. - floor plans, elevations, sections, etc.). Working with multiple units on a project, it would be nice to have them organized by Unit A, Unit B, and so on. Mainly for the elevation sections of the browser. N,S,E,W elevations would be grouped per unit. I have this part working. The issue is using a view template. When I change the elevations to a template, the browser changes all the elevations to one "view type". I must be having difficulty with the sorting or something. Thanks for any help!

I did this and it works great. Been using for quite a while. This issue lies in the view template. As soon as I assign a template tot he view the organization goes right out the door...

Set the parameter you use to sort the view/sheet in the project browser in the view templates and assign a value to it.

I have tried this as well. I'm not sure why it keeps changing all my elevations to whatever I change my "view type" to. When I change it for one unit, all the elevations associated with that template change to the new "view type". I'm not getting snarky using the quotes, I promise. That was just the name of my parameter.

Hi,

You use one viewtemplate for all the "units-elevations" correct?, Then make sure to uncheck the box in the viewtemplate for the "view type" parameter that controls the browser layout.

Now you can use one viewtemplate but use different values per view(instance) for the "view type" parameter.
