View Settings - Window labels showing unexpectetly

I have something funny happening - display window labels in plan view and in some areas where I have windows on 1st and 2nd floor, labels from 1st floor show on 2nd floor plan and vice versa. I am including some screenshots below along with my view settings. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thx,

Marc

Why are the Bottom ranges at some distances below the associated level?

I have two different roof levels, hence the negative distance. I tried setting those to 0 and it did not change the way the window & door labels showed up.

Still have not figured out why this is happening? Any ideas from anybody before I call tech support?

Thx,

Marc, no need to call....support came to you! Can you upload a portion of your model that demonstrates this? I tried to recreate but without more information I'm not sure what way your file is set up. If you cannot upload please let me know how you file is set up. I will need level information, windows and placement height, and what views are related to what screenshot.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for uploading your file. Since your View Range is set to view the floor below it's picking up and displaying the window tag (see 12473515_View_Range_Image_1.png). In this case Revit is working as designed and as expected. Your window has a tag that set to display in plan and your upper plan View Range is set to view the level below, which contains windows. Therefore the tags will display. You have a few choices here but depending on what you want to see will determine which one you go with.

1. Change the View Range setting so the window tags on the Level below will not display, see 12473515_View_Range_Image_2.png.

2. I'm assuming you need to see something else in your plan view and you do not want to see the widow tag from the level below. Ideas on how to do this:

a. You may be able to add a Yes, No Parameter on the window tag and turn it off in the levels where you do not wish to see it.

b. Use a Plan Region to display what you need to see and not include the windows.

3. Here's some information on View Ranges that will help explain why the tags are showing up.

I hope this helps and let me know if you have any follow up questions, comments or is this addressed your questions.
