I haven't used this function for a while, but I do remember, that it should save only elements visible on the view. Looks like not anymore (since 2021). Is it a bug or a feature?

This is still available from File > Save As > Library > View but is limited for specific View Types

If you need to share a model and strip it out you manually need to delete views and sheets and purge etc,

It saves the model if you are trying to save a model view to a new file.  What you remember was with drafting views.

try this:

  • select the desired items and make a Group
  • then from Save As >Library>Group and save it as a New Revit File
  • Open it or use it as a Linked File

This is also a way, but it will cutt off these elements from the model. Not exactly what we need.
