View name to long

Morning,

How do I get ride of the highlighted part of the view name in the project browser in Revit 2023? 

This has been a pain in our projects as the name gets too long!

It should be editable, is it not?

It looks like it is intended to be there for a reason, I would be careful about changing it. You may find some use in the title on sheet override.

Hi,

The text in parentheses is probably the floor plan type.

Right Click in project browser -> Browser Organization... -> edit -> tab Grouping and Sorting

check if the last sorting is "Family and Type"

If no, add it.

I agree with @RobDraw... that looks intentional. 

That said 😁... the "Area Plan" is the type of view, the rest is the view name. if you select one and pick Rename, what is in the renameable part of the name? What I see happen a lot is the view is placed on a sheet and someone wants to rename the Title of the view. If they edit the name in the View Title, and the Title On Sheet parameter is blank, the view will get renamed. If the Title On Sheet parameter is filled in, the view name will stay the same. this allows you to have a short(er) view name and a more descriptive View Title.

I set all the default views in my templates to EDIT to correct Title to avoid this in my office 😁.

Hi,

In Area Plan the text in parentheses is the area scheme.

So in Browser Organization if the last sorting is "Family and Type" we can organize Project Browser like below:

If the text in parentheses is part of the Area plan name then @RobDraw and @hmunsell have right.

The highlighted text is from the Name of your Area Scheme.

We have done this and worked fine.
