Hi all,
I am trying to change visualization using Visual Graphic into the linked model, but I had to prepare a filter instead.
Any idea why is it happening?

Hi,

Changing the color by the (sub) category only works if the geometry is actually in that (subb)category.

The family can be Category X but there can be a nested family of category Y (open the pipe family and inspect)

The filter works because if overrides the whole element no matter what category is in it (it's a ALL change action)

From some other models it works properly e.g. Electrical model.
So I would like to know if there is some kind of detailed filtering hierarchy.

No Subcategory involved.

Hi,

True, it could be a Phase or discipline setting for example that changes the element, then setting the category would also do nothing.

There should be a doc/post somewhere listing the order completely.

For Projection/Cut lines/patterns.

1. User manually overide element = Will override anything graphics setting (can't be applied to linked elements)

2. ViewFilters  (order of the viewfilters also matters)

3. Phase setting (I think viewfilters can override Phase settings)

? Discipline settings like hidden lines in Structural etc

4. Category/subcategory setting.

Found one: Revit Visibility Hierarchy
