Vertical HVAC Drop

How to I create a vertical round duct that drops down from the horizontal duct above, and add a round diffuser to the end of the drop? I just need this in my Architectural model for coordination, not a 'real' MEP drawing.

Do it the other way around. Place the diffuser and connect the duct automatically.

Cut a section and then start drawing your pipe vertically. Also I use flex duct so you can connect the horizontal pipe with diffuser and it will automatically connect with each other.

Is there a family available for a round diffuser that is not hosted on a ceiling? I can't find one.

@PhilvK

You can easily convert a ceiling based to face based (using Copy/Monitor)...However, do not use the architectural families. Instead, use the the Diffusers under \Mechanical\MEP\Air-Side Components\Air Terminals these are face based

Attached is a 2018 version if  you do not find them

Thank You, I did find that family, but I'll need to look up Copy / Monitor. - have never used it.

  1. You load and place the ceiling based in a new dummy model/project >>
  2. link that into your project >>
  3. under collaborate tab copy monitor the defuser >>
  4. select difuser and stop monitor
  5. Unlink the dummy project

    The diffuser left in the project is a face based which you can save for future use
