variable font size/format in a single instance of system family:text?

can this be done?

I like to include paragraph text on my drawings where:
the top line (heading) is: 1/4", Bold, Underlined
and the (wrapping) paragraph text below (body) is: 1/8"

In Revit do I need to create 2 seperate instances of text?
one for the "heading", and one for the "body"?
or can this be achieved?

Yeah you have to create separate text for each text size. Unfortunately, it
doesn't work like CAD's mtext.

You can bold and underline in one text object but can't change size.

If you created a generic annotation family you could have labels of
different size with parameters driving the text. It is a little strange to
enter text into one line of a parameter but it will work.

Attached is an example of this. (Revit 2008 format)

bummer...

but thanks for the clarification.

Can you *constrain* a piece of text to another?
Maybe have something pre-set in a Family,
that can be inserted from a Library?

You mean like locking it, not that I've found. You can however select text
and select Group, then you can reuse it. I do that with some note boxes.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Does that mean I'd have to enter the label in the Instance Properties
window,
and not on-screen?

Thanks. I'm using Systems Plus 2.
I assume that I won't be able to open this file?

Thanks Jeff great suggestion. I was creating my text paragraphs as legends
and inserting those into the sheet.

You can enter the text on screen. Just click on the parameter and it will
change to a field you can type text on. It will all enter into one line and
then wrap based on whatever width you have set for the label in the family.
If you were to click the annotation and go to the properties then the
parameter would be on long line looking kind of funny.

Let me make one on an older version and post with this message.
