Hi Masters!!!

I have created a extrusion in family and split one face of the family in it using split face tool, when i'm loading that in to my project, whenever I select the family in project environment that splitted face shows grip (image shown below). Please help me to turn off the grip. Thanks in advance.

That cannot be turned off.  What is the big deal about it?

Or you can model the solid as a sweep in lieu of the extrusion, then you have no grip at the split face.

Thanks @ToanDN

I have to apply different material to different splitted face of a single element.

Thanks @Anonymous,

I pinned the element in family editor it's not working, But when I'm pinning the family in project environment is is working. Is there any way to pin the family automatically when loading it into project??

We are going to send this family to our client. Client may not pin the family in project environment.

You can split face a sweep and apply different materials the same way without the grip.  Even with the extrusion, you can still apply a different material with that grip, can't you?

@ToanDN,

I can, but I don't want to see the grip inside the project. Thanks.

Hello @PrathapSekar

Nope, You have to manually pin the family.

I think the best way to hide or remove that grip is find another way of modeling that split face.

can you share the family so we can check it personally.
