Unwanted Streaks in toposurface when building pad is added

We have a topography created using a points file.

The surface has a green colour and looks fine in it's original state

However when we add a building pad we get this 

The lines are not able to be selected, nor do they appear where the pad was placed. When the pad is removed the topo returns to clean state.

Adding pads changes the pattern and display of the lines.

Does anyone know why this is happening and more importantly how to stop it happening.

We have tried simplifying the surface but this also made no difference

hiding triangulation might solve your problem..

Thanks Ganash,

sadly no this was not a solution, the triangulation is already off. I did try with all sub categories off and the result was no different.

Can anyone else make a suggestion

Just a test. Push the pads down deeper into the topo see what happens.
