make sure you have template files located and mentioned in File locations..

You can download only templates using the link below...

you don't need to reinstall entire Revit for that..

Same problem here.  I've tried copy & pasting the templates elsewhere and reinstalling the Revit 2018 Content Libraries & Templates.  Still doesn't work.

Installed last week.  Any ideas?

Can you open the template file directly?

you can save any revit ( rvt ) file as template ( rte) if you have a reference

file / project which you want to use..

HI,

It can happen for many reason. The most common is that you have deleted a Revit version from Control panel + uninstall and the revit version whatever. If you have done it you do not delete some Library files from the C drive and it cause the error.

Solution!

1) Go to start  + Autodesk + Uninstall toll. Autodesk uninstall tool.PNG

2) Click on the material library af all the Revit version you have as shown in the attached immage.

Uninstall tool.PNG

3) Click uninstall and Install again the Library for the Revit version you need.

I hope it can be useful for you.

Regards!

Caution!

The Material Library has nothing to do with the Template ( .rte ) file that the original post is asking about.

Hi Cbcarch,

Thanks for your comment.

You are totally right, I made a mistake with in my previous message.

Instead of "delete Material library" I should said "delete Revit Content Library".

I had the same issue with the templates and I fixed it in this way. (Uninstalling the content with Autodesk Uninstall Toll and installing again the content.)

Regards.
