.....to change defaults from metric to imperial or vice versa
Issue:You have installed Revit but the default templates are metric, and you need Imperial, or vice versa.
Causes:The default paths to the template and family content folders are pointing to the Metric folders, not the Imperial folders.
Solution:Both Metric and Imperial families and templates are installed with your product; there are not separate Metric and Imperial versions of Revit. You can change the default settings so that you can access the right set of templates and families when you begin work.
To change the default file and folder locations in Revit: 1.
Click File > Options >File Locations.
2. On the right,
click in the box next to Architectural Template, and click the button with 3 dots that appears.

In Browse for Template file, click in the drop-down next to "look in". Go up one level to the Templates folder. Choose the template folder you want, and then choose the desired template.
4. Repeat for the other templates.
5. Below that, look for
"Default path for family template files", and click Browse. As you did with the template folders, go up one level to Family Templates and choose the appropriate folder. (
NOTE:
English is
Metric, and
English_I is
Imperial.
