Unable to dimension to some wall cores

Why am I not able to dimension to some wall cores but I can dimension to others. Tab select does nothing. I can only select core or outside face of the wall.

This is a callout enlarged view.  I can dimension the core with parts turned on but I don't want to use parts.

Is the wall actually a compound-layered wall type with a core?  Are the core edges visible in view?  They wouldn't be if the Detail Level was set to Coarse.

...one more.  Are all these checkboxes checked?

...another one:

Are you using your TAB Key (e.g. TAB-Selecting)?

Ah! I bet I know what you are talking about.  Wall Wraps. Right? No can do in Revit.  You'll need to draw and pull your dimensions from Ref. Planes.

Huh, @ToanDN? What did I say that was inaccurate?  I'll be happy to just own it. No need to cover my tracks.

It would be a good guess until OP said if he created parts he could dimension just fine. Wrapping don't translate to parts.

Huh? I'm not following you. Wrapping doesn't translate into Parts.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Neverending deadlines.

The issue turned out to be that the common edges were turned off. Once I turned that back on it worked as it should.

So you are saying that some Walls in the View were showing Common Edges while others were not?  That's possible? How do you do that? Turn a particular Wall's Common Edges off and on in a View?

That is a good point. I don't really know what the issue was. The solution was to turn on common edges.

That was 2 submittals ago I don't remember.
