Unable to control leader in annotation family

I have messed with my annotation family several times and cannot recall how to adjust the leader to always appear in the same location despite how long/wide the text is. I want the leader to always come off the first line of text, never the middle or end. Anyone know what I am forgetting to do?

You cannot.  Imagine you have a box that cover the extent of your annotation family.  A leader always starts at one of the four midpoints of the box.

Is it possible to apply the same "tool" as standard font in Revit where you can select upper, middle or bottom option? I'm not sure why I wouldn't be able to control it.

No it is not possible.  Revit treats Annotation families as symbols, not text notes.  It does not matter if you have text or labels in families.

Hi @Anonymous,

In Revit 2017 there is an option to choose the position of the leader in relation to the lines of text:

Right. But I have created a specific family that has a "type" for each annotation so that when I change one label it will change throughout my entire project. The leader has a parameter but I cannot figure out how to adjust it. The family is attached above. I am not speaking on standard text in Revit.
