Trying to delete a Area Scheme

I'm trying to delete an Area Scheme in a Revit Project. When i do that instead of just deleting the elements associated to that area scheme it deletes all the areas in the project. In this case i'm using Revit 2024.
Does anyone have any idea of what is doing this?

I was able to resolve the problem by changing the area type of all the areas in the project, deleting the area Scheme, and then changing all the Area Type back. But i'm still not able to understand why it happens.

Rename your Area Scheme name to make it customize.

No, this is affecting all the Area Schemes.

I already solved the problem, by changing the Area Type of the Areas i want to maintain. Still i'm trying to understand if this is a bug. Because if i want to delete a Area Scheme it shouldn't affect the others.

The problem is still the same. This is a view where i organize all the area plan and their Schedules.

By deleting one Area Scheme all the areas in the project area deleted.

As you can see in the next image. My aim here is to see if this is a recurrent issue.

that you mean, you have area and schedule from TO MAINTAIN 1 and you delete the TODELETE and the schedule and area plan from TO MAINTAIN 1 will be deleted.

No, only the Areas.
The views and schedules from TO MAINTAIN 1 and TO MAINTAIN 2 are not deleted. Only the AREAS.

I have made somes tests to new models. Like creating new area schemes and deleting them, or creating new area schemes and then upgrade the model from Revit 2022 to 2024. And i not able to recreate the same problem that i'm having.
I'm reaching the idea that the file might be corrupted in some way.

Still, the reason i came here is because it happened to two diferent projects, which can be a recurrent issue. But it can also be a coincidence.

English is not my first language, but did you mean when you delete the TO DELETE the AREA PLAN of TO DELETE ,will be deleted,if yes so this is not issue, when you delete the base all the area of this base will be deleted too.this is normal.

Hi,

I'm not sure why it does that for you, but trying it with Revit 2024 and using Pele AI to do it is quite easy 🙂
