Truss Family Visibility Parameters

Hi!

I've checked around the forums and looked at a few tutorials but can't find the solution to this.

I am creating a truss family and want two types, one where all elements are fully visible and one where the vertical webs are invisible. Using a visibility parameter doesn't work. I can of course can just create two separate families, but wheres the fun in that?

As you can see in the screenshot they will be used to create marquees, I've quite a few to make so if anyone has any shortcuts please do share! Thanks 🙂

I can indeed. I've just put a very simple On/Off visibility parameter on it. In my investigation lots of other people did this and similarly it just didn't do anything.

Because a truss family only defines the skeleton, not the actual structural members.  Simply create a new structural framing family without any geometry and assign it for vertical web of the truss type you don't want the vertical web.   See attached.
