I'm looking to create a truss family similar to the Howe Flat Truss, where I can snap the top chord to a roof profile, but I'd like to make an adjustable attic section. I've got a family in progress attached below. There are definitely in-built parameters to a Structural Truss Family, that I'm having to guess at and hoping you folks can help.
I have parameters where I set the Left, Right and Ceiling dimensions of the Attic, which seem like they become associated with the ridge of the roof they get attached to?
The Ceiling Parameter seems like it's doing something like a proportional adjustment to the height parameter I give it before it's attached to the roof?
I currently have the Ceiling member just EQ'd across the center plane, because if I attach it to the side webs, it starts to tilt rather than staying Horizontal? probably because their heights are different and it's trying to do the proportional adjustment thing again?
Is there a way to get the Ceiling member of a Structural Truss family to stay horizontal and make it adjustable side-to-side at the same time?
